MacherlaTown Police have arrested the accused in the 23-year-old woman’s rape case that occurred in the limits of Macherla Town Police Station on April 2. The police arrested the accused on Wednesday and produced him in the court on Thursday.

During investigation, it was found that the accused Namala Srinivas had initially contacted the victim through a social messaging app and later developed a close relationship via Instagram. It was found that the victim had invited him to her house and guided him to the location. Initially, due to fear, the victim did not disclose the complete facts.

SP Krishna Rao appreciated the officers and staff involved in solving the case. Palnadu district police reiterated that utmost priority is given to the safety and security of women and children. Crimes against women and minors will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against offenders, he said.
