TheNational Students' Union of India (NSUI), student wing of the Congress party, celebrated its 56th foundation day here on Thursday.

Under the leadership of District NSUI President Shiv Balaji, the event took place.

On this occasion, District Congress President Gowdapera Chittibabu cut a cake and distributed it to students and leaders. Stating that NSUI is one of the largest student unions in the world, Shiv Balaji added that it fights relentlessly for student problems and works towards Indira Gandhi's vision.

Gowdapera Chittibabu said former prime minister Indira Gandhi founded NSUI on April 9, 1971, keeping national interests in mind for students' higher education and bright future. From then till now, it promotes national spirit, equality, democracy protection, and public welfare among students.

Congress State Vice President Doddareddy Rambhupal Reddy lauded NSUI as a student union formed by Indira Gandhi with noble aims. It has been inspiringly fighting for student issues across the country since its start.

AICC OBC Cell Coordinator Muralikrishna and Chittoor Siva Sankar highlighted that NSUI is a well-known national student body. It helps youth move forward with patriotic feelings.

NSUI Tirupati City Secretaries Gowtham, Deepak, ST Cell District President Jyothiswar Naik, Prem Sagar were present.
