JangaonMLA Dr. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy on Thursday urged farmers to ensure they receive fair prices for their produce and avoid exploitation by middlemen. He stated that the government is committed to farmers’ welfare and encouraged them to utilise available opportunities, particularly the support price being offered at Cheriyal market.

The MLA advised farmers not to sell maize at low prices such as Rs.1700 or Rs.1800, stressing that a support price of Rs.2400 is available. He also highlighted that a Rs.500 bonus is being provided for fine paddy and urged farmers to take full advantage of this benefit. He warned that any negligence by officials in the procurement process would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken.

Responding to concerns raised by farmers from Tarigoppula, Narmetta, and Bachannapet mandals regarding distance issues, he said efforts are underway to establish special maize procurement centres in these areas. He assured continued support for farmers and emphasised that development and welfare initiatives would be pursued beyond party lines.
