Ina major step towards improving public access to police services, the Future City Commissionerate has launched the “Onsite FIR” system, allowing police to register complaints and book cases directly at the scene of an incident for faster response and swift legal action.

The new initiative was implemented following a chain-snatching incident reported in Kondannaguda village under Shadnagar police station limits in Ranga Reddy district. According to the victim, Veeramma, the incident occurred at around 2:30 pm on Thursday while she was sitting near her agricultural field.

An unidentified person reportedly arrived on a motorcycle, parked it a short distance away, approached her from behind, and snatched a gold mangalsutra chain weighing about four tolas before fleeing the scene.

After receiving information, Shadnagar ACP Satyanarayana, CI Seetharam, and SI Shivareddy rushed to the spot and gathered details. Based on the victim’s complaint, police registered an FIR at the location itself under the Onsite FIR system and immediately launched an investigation.
