Markinga significant step towards digital governance and enhanced citizen convenience, the Transport Department has successfully operationalised the generation of non-transport temporary registrations through the VAHAN portal. To ensure smooth and efficient processing, over 1,000 dealers have been trained through physical and online modes. A senior officer at the transport department stated that 346 financial integrations have been completed and 671 dealers are now authorised and onboarded, enabling seamless and decentralised service delivery across the state. The system is being progressively strengthened in a phased, module-wise manner to ensure continuous improvements in efficiency and reliability.

As of now, as many as 33,000 temporary registration certificates have been generated through the portal. Furthermore, the generation of permanent registration certificates will commence from 11 April. Citizens will be able to download registration certificates and driving licences through the NextGen mParivahan App. Additional transactions will also be enabled on the application in a phased manner.

The implementation of VAHAN-based registration is a major step towards digital transformation in the department. It enhances transparency, reduces processing time, and ensures hassle-free services for citizens by removing traditional bureaucratic hurdles.
