SIMS Hospital successfully performed a highly complex surgery to remove stones from a patient's pancreas. Bhavani Lokesh, a 27-year-old homemaker from Tumakuru district of Karnataka, had been suffering from severe abdominal pain for a year due to Chronic Calcific Pancreatitis.

Expert surgeon Dr N Mohammed Shahid removed all stones from her pancreas and reattached the organ to the small intestine. The procedure, typically performed only in major cities like Hyderabad or Bengaluru, was completed with remarkable precision. Lokesh was discharged just five days post-surgery.

The medical team included Dr Shahid, along with critical care specialists Dr A Sanjana, Dr Vijay, Dr Arun and Dr Gautam. Hospital managing directors Dr M Ashwath Reddy and Dr G Swaroop Reddy noted that advanced surgical infrastructure is now available locally, ensuring comprehensive healthcare for Anantapur residents.
