Anantapurdistrict should emerge as a frontrunner in achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra Pradesh, said Lanka Dinakar, chairman of the 20-Point Programme Committee, during a review meeting held at the Collectorate on Thursday.

The meeting, attended by MP Ambika Lakshminarayana, District Collector O Anand, and senior officials, reviewed the implementation of key Central schemes, including Jal Jeevan Mission, AMRUT 1.0 and 2.0, PM Surya Ghar, PM Kusum, and other welfare programmes related to health, education, and rural development.

Addressing the media, Dinakar stressed the need for progress in education and healthcare sectors to align with national and state development goals. He highlighted the importance of human resource development and called for effective planning under rural employment and livelihood initiatives to enhance asset creation and employment opportunities.

Officials informed that proposals worth Rs 277 crore have been submitted for agricultural and horticultural development for 2026–27, with potential assistance exceeding Rs 1,500 crore over six years. The review also covered health programmes under the National Health Mission, maternal and child welfare schemes, and drinking water supply initiatives.

MP Lakshminarayana urged strict implementation of Central schemes and timely achievement of targets. Collector O. Anand assured that all measures are being taken to ensure effective execution of development programmes across the district.
