FormerMLA Gummadi Narsaiah and Potu Rangarao, Telangana State Secretary of the CPI ML Praja Pantha, have strongly condemned the issuance of notices by the National Investigation Agency against Rangarao.

Speaking at a press conference at the party office in Khammam, Narsaiah asserted that their activities consist solely of open public movements and that they have never engaged in anti-social acts. He questioned how a case of seditious conspiracy could be filed against Rangarao and criticised the authorities for allegedly suppressing voices working for public welfare. Narsaiah cited the labeling of Rahul Gandhi as an Urban Naxal and warned that democracy is under threat due to false cases filed against activists, journalists, and intellectuals.

Highlighting previous legal victories, Narsaiah noted that all prior cases related to Podu lands and public movements had been quashed. He accused the government of using the UAPA and Sedition Act to stifle dissent and silences their party.

He affirmed that the CPI ML would confront the cases both legally and through public protests while continuing its work for people’s rights. Narsaiah stated they would cooperate fully with the NIA investigation while continuing their struggle. This notice is viewed by the leadership as an attack on constitutional freedoms and the right to protest.

The party remains committed to its ideology and intends to mobilise public support against what it describes as the misuse of central agencies for political ends across the state.
