FormerIndian Army personnel and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Town President K. Shivakumar on Wednesday stepped down from his post, citing unavoidable reasons and organisational shortcomings. He submitted his resignation to BJP District President Doni Srisailam. Shivakumar said he had joined the party after retirement with the aim of serving the public without expecting personal benefits. While resigning from the post, he confirmed that he would continue to remain a primary member of the BJP.
