Two Iranian students pursuing their final year of pharmacy at Andhra University approached the District Revenue Officer on Wednesday, seeking urgent financial assistance in light of hardships caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

The students, identified as Solmaz Mohammadi and Zeinab Mohammadi, submitted a formal representation explaining their distress.

In their appeal, the students conveyed that they were originally from Iran and are currently residing in India along with their three children, aged seven, five, and four.

They stated that the prevailing war conditions had disrupted communication with their families back home, leaving them without any financial or emotional support.

As a result, they expressed their inability to meet essential expenses, including house rent, children’s school fees, and daily living costs.

The representation further noted that the family had been unable to pay rent for the past two months, amounting to Rs.14,600, while pending school fees for their three children was Rs.29,700. The students also indicated that they required financial assistance to purchase air tickets to return to their home country.

However, they explained that their academic commitments, including an internship scheduled till early June, had compelled them to remain in India for the time being, although the uncertain situation might necessitate an earlier return if possible.

They earnestly appealed to the authorities to extend financial support to help them overcome the crisis, adding that any assistance provided would be useful to them.
