BJP state president P V N Madhav met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati and submitted a representation highlighting key issues faced by fishermen and home guards in the state.

During the meeting, Madhav raised concerns over frequent incidents of illegal entry by fishermen from Tamil Nadu into coastal areas of Nellore, Ongole, and Bapatla districts. He stated that these intrusions are causing serious difficulties for local fishermen, as outsiders allegedly arrive in speed boats, exploit marine resources, damage fishing nets and boats, and even resort to attacks.

He expressed concern that such incidents are creating fear among local fishing communities and could potentially disturb law and order in coastal regions. Referring to a recent incident in Juvvaladinne area of Nellore district, he said local fishermen had caught some of these boats, but authorities reportedly released them without strict action, raising suspicions.

Madhav urged the Chief Minister to take immediate steps to curb illegal fishing activities, enforce strict action against intruding boats, and strengthen coastal security to protect the livelihoods of local fishermen.

He also highlighted the difficulties faced by around 400 home guards who have been working far away from their native places since the state bifurcation. He requested the government to initiate mutual transfers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to address their concerns and provide relief to the affected personnel.
