Toavoid misconceptions on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and to avoid panic among the citizens, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), the sole political party stepped up and has initiated an educational effort for voters by establishing a SIR help desk.

AIMIM leaders have appealed to citizens to take the SIR process seriously and complete their voter mapping without delay.

In view of the upcoming SIR of electoral rolls in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana, AIMIM has advised voters to gear up for the exercise. The party has been assisting the voters with voter list verification, registration and corrections. In the help desk established by the party, the party leaders, along with the officers, are explaining the process of the exercise, they are advising the citizens to search for their or their relatives’ names in the 2002 SIR list.

A physical help desks have been set up in each area by the party under the guidance of area MLA. Moreover, to assist the voters with verification, registration, and corrections, the leaders are conducting door-to-door campaigns. These help desks were set up in all seven constituencies – Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Yakutpura, Bahadurpura, Malakpet, Karwan and Nampally. A central help desk was also launched at the party headquarters at Darussalam by Asaduddin Owaisi to assist the public in verifying, correcting and updating voter details.

In Charminar, the MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali, who inspected the help desk in Shalibanda on Wednesday, said that the help desk is intended to help the public verify, correct and update their details in the voter list.

He urged the people to confirm their inclusion in the electoral rolls. “The help desk is providing guidance and support to ensure the accurate information about the voter or a family, allowing citizens to confirm their names or a family tree in the electoral rolls,” said Zulfeqar Ali.

The MLA said that trained representatives are available to assist individuals during the process. Zulfeqar Ali said, “All voters are encouraged to make use of this facility and ensure that their details are correct in the rolls.”

The party Corporators, MLAs and local leaders are creating awareness campaigns at the ground level to prevent any voter from missing the process.

Yakutpura MLA Jaffar Hussain Meraj said the campaign’s primary goal is to ensure every eligible voter is mapped and prevent deletion of genuine names. The MLA urged the residents that when the party’s volunteers visit a household, along with BLO, they should give priority to meet the senior-most head of the family. This will help in mapping the entire family tree.”

Furthermore, SIR help desk was also set up at Masjid-e-Mohammedia, Red Hills, to assist the Bohra community also in Masjid Khair-Ul-Anaam, Kamalapuri Colony Phase 2, and various other religious places across the city.
