Ministerfor Health Damodar Raja Narasimha announced that the process of filling additional 2,322 nursing positions will be completed within the next two days.

The Minister attended the Safe Motherhood Day celebrations held at the Midwifery Training Institute in Boyaguda, an event conducted under the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika initiative. During his remarks, he emphasised that the State government is prioritising the recruitment of nursing professionals in hospitals. Over the past two years, the government has reinforced the healthcare system by addressing more than 10,000 vacancies, the majority of which were nursing roles, he said. “We are creating new nursing colleges to enhance opportunities for students. In order to support international career prospects, we are also facilitating English, German, and Japanese language training for nursing students,” Minister Raja Narasimha noted.

Additionally, the Minister highlighted that the government is enhancing midwifery services within the state to promote natural births. As part of this initiative, midwifery training has been provided to 370 nurses.

“We will establish midwifery training institutes in government nursing colleges and will also work towards decreasing the number of Cesarean deliveries,” he stated.
