Followingthe successful first three days of Health Week celebrations under the Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika, the health department has finalised arrangements for statewide programmes focused on HIV and AIDS awareness this Thursday. To raise public consciousness, human chains and Red Run rallies are scheduled across Telangana. Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha will inaugurate the main event at the Cable Bridge at 6 am.

The Telangana AIDS Control Society has organised a massive human chain involving approximately 1,000 participants at the iconic structure. Simultaneously, statewide HIV and TB screening camps are being conducted at government general hospitals and correctional facilities. Special health camps for transgender individuals will be held at government Maitri Clinics, alongside essay competitions for medical and nursing students.

Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha is also scheduled to inaugurate medical camps at Chanchalguda Central Jail at 10 am. To enhance emergency response and save lives during road accidents, the government is implementing a new Trauma Care Policy. As part of this initiative, specialised centres and critical care blocks are being established across the state. The Health Minister will lay the foundation stone for a fifty-bed critical care block in Kondapur on Thursday. These comprehensive efforts reflect the commitment of the government to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring that vital medical services reach vulnerable populations including prisoners and the transgender community while modernising trauma response systems across all districts.
