Hyderabad: BRS leaders on Wednesday alleged that the media conference addressed by Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy was merely an attempt to cover up his own misdeeds. They further claimed that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was shielding the illegal activities of the Revenue Minister.

Addressing a press conference in the city, BRS MLA KP Vivekananda said Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy was the individual who fled to Kerala overnight the moment Harish Rao talked about Raghav Constructions and its mining activities during the Budget Sessions. He alleged that the Minister is currently evading the situation by claiming to be engaged in election campaigning while the Revenue Department has become completely mired in corruption.

The BRS leader noted that Harish Rao had issued a bold challenge regarding these allegations, yet the Minister fled to Kerala instead of accepting it. Vivekananda stated that despite the Chief Minister claiming Raghav Construction does not belong to the Minister, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy himself asserts it belongs to his son. The BRS leader demanded that the Minister must resign immediately for engaging in illegal mining activities. BRS General Secretary RS Praveen Kumar added that the media conference sounded more like a statement from a company chairman than a government official. He questioned whether Raghava Construction or Megha Engineering is actually steering the people of Telangana.

Regarding the Vattinagulapally land dispute, the BRS leadership demanded that the son of the Minister must answer whether he visited the residence of Pallavi Shah and Satish Shah. They further questioned whether Habibullah Khan, the officer who registered the case, was subsequently transferred as a result of the investigation. The opposition maintains that the government is prioritising corporate interests over public welfare and transparency. These allegations have intensified the political heat in the state, with the BRS calling for a thorough inquiry into the links between the ruling cabinet and private construction firms involved in regional mining.
