Tomanage the surge in passenger demand during the peak summer travel season, South Central Railway has announced the extension of several special train services across multiple routes. The move aims to provide relief to passengers travelling to key destinations, particularly pilgrimage and regional hubs. According to an official release issued on Wednesday, SCR will operate additional trips connecting important locations such as Tirupati, Charlapalli, Kacheguda, Secunderabad, Kakinada Town, and Anakapalle. Several services have been scheduled between 10 April and 17 April 2026, covering both one-time and multiple-trip operations. Prominent routes include Tirupati–Akola, Kacheguda–Tiruchanur, Secunderabad–Anakapalle, and Hyderabad–Belagavi. Special trains will also run between Kakinada Town and Lingampalli on select days, offering three trips in each direction to accommodate higher passenger volumes. Additionally, services linking long-distance destinations such as Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, Pandharpur, and Jalna have been included in the extended schedule, ensuring broader connectivity across regions.

The railway authorities emphasised that these extensions are part of ongoing efforts to enhance passenger convenience and reduce overcrowding in regular trains. SCR officials stated that the initiative reflects a proactive approach to seasonal travel demand, especially during holidays and pilgrimage periods.

Passengers are advised to check train timings and availability through official railway platforms before planning their journeys. The extension of these special services is expected to significantly ease travel pressure while ensuring a smoother and more comfortable journey experience during the busy summer rush across the various divisions of South Central Railway.
