TheCyberabad Cyber Crime Police arrested a man from Guntur for posting offensive and abusive comments on actress Renu Desai’s YouTube reel.

The accused was identified as Chennaiah Runjala of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. According to police, during his free time, Runjala frequently watched reels on YouTube. Recently, the accused watched a reel of actress Renu Desai, after watching the reel, the accused posted an abusive and offensive comment from his YouTube account.

The police said while the accused was present at Guntur, the Cybercrime Police apprehended him and informed him of the reasons for his arrests and brought him to Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police Station. During verification, the accused produced his mobile phone through which he had posted the said comment.

Recently, actress Renu Desai has issued a strong warning to social media users indulging in trolling and obscene comments, making it clear that such behaviour will not be tolerated. Renu emphasised that freedom of expression should not be misused to spread vulgarity or hatred.

Cyber Crime police advised the social media users to maintain responsible online behaviour and avoid posting abusive, defamatory, or offensive comments. The police said posting objectionable content on social media platforms can lead to legal action under relevant provisions of law.

Citizens are encouraged to use digital platforms responsibly and report any cyber offences to the nearest Cyber Crime Police Station or through the 1930 Cyber Helpline.
