Theauction of more than 1,400 commercial shops located in double bedroom (2BHK) housing colonies under the ‘CURE’ initiative will commence from April 9 across districts in and around Hyderabad.

District Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy have issued notifications for the sale of shops spread across 36 colonies. The first phase will be held on April 9 and 10 in Ranga Reddy district, covering 273 shops in eight colonies.

According to Housing Corporation Managing Director VP Gautham, the shops—ranging from 60 to 400 square feet—are being auctioned on an “as is, where condition is” basis. The upset prices have been fixed at nominal rates, significantly lower than prevailing market prices. Interested bidders can register at the respective RDO offices by 11 am on auction days after submitting the required Earnest Money Deposit (EMD).

Officials stated that the proceeds from the auctions will be used exclusively for the maintenance and development of the respective colonies. Colony Residents’ Welfare Associations will be formed under the Cooperative Societies Act to manage the funds through a corpus fund and joint bank accounts.

The government aims to ensure self-sustained maintenance of colonies, covering common amenities such as lighting, lifts, and bore wells, while also promoting local employment and access to essential goods.

Subsequent auctions are scheduled in Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts between April 15 and April 21.
